Our commitment to anti-racism
ANTI-RACIST: THOSE WHO SPEAK AND ACT IN WAYS THAT ADVANCE RACIAL EQUITY IN SOCIETY; THE ACT OF INTERRUPTING RACISM.
We at Tiny Haven have taken the pledge to be an Anti-Racist Small Business. The pledge was written and created by Rachel Rodgers, Ericka Hines, and Sonya Renee Taylor which outlines five clearly stated specific practices for any small business.

We are committed to practice anti-racism with the intention of ending racism both systemically and within ourselves as an individuals. To do this, we make the following commitments:
1. Name white supremacy and the impact of racism on both our personal and professional lives.
We recognize that as white people, we have been born into a life of privilege, and that we have benefitted from a society that supports white supremacy. We commit to dismantling white supremacy in our work, businesses, and personal lives. To do this, we am actively working to find where our privilege intersects with the oppression of others and taking steps to change that.
2. Engage in anti-racist education for you and your team.
We commit to educating ourselves and our team on anti-racism and practicing what we are learning. We commit to read books, take courses, read articles, and listen to talks from BIPOC and others who are conducting anti-racism education. We commit to actively listening to BIPOC and other people and groups who have been marginalized and harmed by our society. We also commit to education and discussion on these topics for our team.
3. Commit to open-conflict and allow discomfort.
We are open to being uncomfortable as we face and dismantle racism and white supremacy within ourselves and society. We are open to conversation within our team and our community that may be uncomfortable but needs to happen in order to truly create a space of equality and humanity at Tiny Haven and in our society.
4. Invest a portion of your monthly company budget to the Black community.
We are committed to investing in Black-owned businesses and services to support the running of our businesses as well as developing ways to give time, money, and resources to groups and organizations who are working on criminal justice reform and anti-racism. We are also committed to being an equal opportunity employer, who does not discriminate based on race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious, political views, etc.
5. Express your sincere, long-term commitment to becoming an anti-racist organization.
We are committed to actively listening, educating ourselves, and working in allyship within the anti-racism movement, so that we can be part of stopping violence, addressing our own racism, and ending systemic racism.
We pledge to face and stop the violence in our own hearts, lives, and work in the hopes that this will also stop the violence in our world. We are all human and deserve to be treated as worthy of life and freedom.
