*We recommend calling ahead to check hours.*
Hiking
Maryland Heights
Maryland Heights is an awesome ~3.5 mile hike with a great view. It’s a steep but fairly wide path hike that you can access from the C&O Canal Towpath along the Potomac River. To get here, park in downtown Harpers Ferry, walk across the walking bridge over the river, take a left when you get off the bridge stairs, and cross the first wooden bridge to get to the trailhead.
Weaverton Cliffs
Weaverton Cliffs is another great ~3 mile hike along the Appalachian Trail. Take the switchbacks up to a great rocky outcrop and view of the mountains. To get there from Tiny Haven Harpers Ferry, turn right onto Keep Tryst Road from Sandyhook Road and follow it until you hit a sharp turn where you can pull over and park near the train tracks. There is also a parking lot if you turn left onto Keep Tryst Road and then turn right onto 340N and then get off at the next exit. When you park there you will want to go left onto the trail (AT north) to get to the view.
C&O Canal Trail
The C&O Canal Trail runs all the way into Washington DC (guests have biked to Tiny Haven Harpers Ferry!) It is a flat trail that is great for biking and walking. It runs along the Potomac River and there are places along the path to access the river. See parking directions for Maryland Heights (above) to get to the trail. You can also get on the trail in Shepherdstown WV (parking along the side of the road on Canal Road and in two parking lots on Canal Road near Shepherdstown WV).
Appalachian Trail
The Appalachian Trail is a 2193 mile trail that runs from Georgia to Maine. Tiny Haven Harpers Ferry is near this trail!
From Tiny Haven Harpers Ferry, park in downtown Harpers Ferry and either walk across the walking bridge to get to the C&O Canal Trail (above) which is part of the Appalachian Trail for a little ways (you’ll be going AT northbound). To go southbound on the AT, park either in downtown or at the parking lot near 340, walk up towards 340 and to your right you will see the path and the white blaze.
